A young family starting up a herd of mixed breed A2 cows on a small farm. They raise the cattle naturally on a clover/grass pasture throughout the summer and an alfalfa/grass hay mix in the winter. They are also fed ground oats during milking and Agridynamics minerals free choice. The cows are soy and GMO-free. The milk is $6/ half gallon. They also have cream, raw honey, maple syrup, soy-free pastured eggs, chicken, and pork. They are closed Sundays. Contact them in advance to schedule a milk pickup. This small family-owned farm in Robertson County, Tennessee raises Lamancha dairy goats under the herd name Mercy Morning Homestead and offers a herd-share program for their raw milk. The goats rotationally graze and browse on unsprayed pastures and are fed Certified Organic feed. They are supplied with free-choice minerals and rainwater collected from the roof of the barns.
In addition to the dairy, the primary farm, Fruit of the Earth, offers organic pasture-raised turkeys every fall for Thanksgiving. They also sell fruit-bearing plants (such as raspberries, blackberries, currants, elderberry, etc.) and perennial herbs twice a year in partnership with friends at Paradise Produce Farm in Pleasant View at their semi-annual plant sales. Dedicated natural goat farm and dairy. Milking does are fed a natural grain mix, with free choice alfalfa/orchard grass hay transported from an organic farm in Indiana. Fresh and frozen raw milk is available from February to October in sterile gallon and half-gallon plastic jugs. Raw milk is sold for pet consumption only per Florida law. The herd is TB/Brucellosis certified and accredited; fifth-year Voluntary Scrapies Eradication Program; on DHI-Milk Test (during milking season); and vet inspected every 90 days.
