Bindi Farms is a small family farm located in the Santa Ynez wine country. They are a vegetarian farm and use animal welfare-centered farming practices such as milk sharing with the goat kids and calves. For herdshare members they offer raw goat's milk from their standard and mini Nubian goats, Belfair and Jersey cows, as well as a rotating selection of raw cultured yogurt, kefir, buttermilk, and cheeses. The farm also sells rainbow chicken eggs from heritage breeds, pastured duck eggs, miniature Southdown Babydoll sheep, Kune Kune pigs, apples, and exotic poultry and waterfowl. In 2022 they will also be offering on site private farm events with their friendly animals for birthday parties, special events, and educational workshops.

Currently have a herd of about 25 dairy goats; Alpine, Saanen and Nubian. They are raised on local farm-raised alfalfa and oats. The farm practices all prevention methods for diseases, and medicates as needed. None of the goats have ever had mastitis, and would not be milked while being treated for such infections. They travel to Fargo and Grand Forks weekly or bi-weekly. Will be needing families to relocate milk to. Please contact for suggested donation price per gallon or half gallon. Raw cow milk and homemade yogurt from Normande cows. All cows are DNA tested to only carry the A2 milk protein. Cows graze on irrigated meadow and ranch pasture in summer and are fed grass/alfalfa hay raised right on the ranch. Grain ration is rolled barley with flax and black oil sunflower seed. Cows are given free choice mineral and salt. Cows are tested for TB, Brucellosis and Johnes. Milk quality is tested several times a year for somatic cell count, MUN and components such a butterfat and protein. Milk is filtered and quickly chilled in a cold water bath. Sold in glass half gallon jars, $5/half gallon. The breeding schedule of cows is staggered to allow milk availability year-round. Milk can be picked up at the ranch in Leiter, or is available in Buffalo, Gillette, and Sheridan. Other delivery locations in surrounding areas can be discussed. Raw goat milk from a mixed breed herd of Nubians, Alpines, and Toggenburgs. Raw cow milk from a herd of Line Backs, Jerseys, Guernsey, Dutch Belted, and Normandys. Animals are grassfed with minimal supplements. No added hormones or antibiotics. They also run a butchering facility, from slaughter to processing and smoking, and sell retail grassfed and custom-ordered meats with no MSG, nitrate, or nitrite added. All products are available on the farm Thu-Fri 8 am-7 pm and Sat 2 pm-7 pm, as well as in local farmers markets. Visitors are welcome. Raw milk is available directly off the farm in Non-BPA plastic half gallon jugs for $10/gallon or $6/half gallon. They use a professional raw milk approved milking system and feed local hay and locally milled grain combined with high quality minerals. Kids are dam raised for their first 2 weeks whenever possible, and often left to be raised by their dams. ADGA Registered Lamancha kids, and the occasional adult, are available for sale. Goats are bred to improve milk production, ease of care, parasite resistance, and confirmation with improvement of the breed in mind.
