Grass-based organic dairy on 550 acres in north central MO. Milking 40 Jersey-cross cows, who feed on pasture (rotational grazing), and are fed some organic corn or barley but no soy. Closed herd, raise their own replacements and do not buy any cows or calves at sale barns. Cows raise their calves on pasture. Milk processed on farm; butter churned weekly in a 250-gallon churn. Raw milk, raw butter ($12/lb), raw cream ($6/pint), 100 percent grassfed lamb from Katahdin sheep (ground, chops, legs, ribs, organ meats, bones), and 100 percent grassfed beef from Jersey-cross steers (ground, steak, ribs, roasts, organ meats, bones) available. Beef is hung for minimum of two weeks; three if local butcher has space available. Will ship butter and meats (frozen); $40 minimum order. Buy in bulk and save. Raw cow milk from a herd of Ayrshire, Lineback's, Dutch Belted, Swedish Red, Brindle, and a couple Normande. Animals are grassfed with minimal supplements. No added hormones or antibiotics. They also run a butchering facility, from slaughter to processing and smoking, and sell retail grassfed and custom-ordered meats with options of no MSG, nitrate, or nitrite added. All products are available on the farm Thu-Fri-Sat 9 am-5 pm, as well as some Home deliveries. Visitors are welcome. ADGA registered Nubian dairy goats that are grassfed and milked twice per day. Hardwicke Farms feeds local perennial peanut hay grown by a Georgia farmer and a specially formulated dairy goat grain blend. Fresh raw milk is sold to order in gallon and half gallon increments. Orders placed today are collected at the next milking and ready for pickup on the following day. The farm is located approximately 25 minutes from Savannah, GA. This herd is on monthly DHIA milk test that checks quality, fat, and protein components. All milk animals are tested annually for CAE, Brucellosis and TB. This herd is not routinely given antibiotics or wormer unless their condition merits it and UGA withholding times for collecting milk are followed. Milk shares available from grassfed A2 purebred Guernsey cow. This cow has been tested and proven to have A2/A2 beta casein. She is mostly grassfed with a small amount of organic dairy feed given at milking time. Every effort made to use only organic products such as organic fly spray made of essential oils. She is hand milked into stainless steel buckets, milk is strained, chilled in the freezer, and stored in glass jars. You may sample the milk first by appointment. Local pick up from farm. May be able to meet you in town depending on the quantity and location. Shares cost $6/week and will provide one gallon of milk per week. They can be paid monthly.
