Raising Nigerian Dwarf goats in a natural setting using a rotational pasture system similar to Polyface Farm in Swoope. They offer goat milk gelato, a variety of goat milk cheeses, goat milk for pets and a goatshare program. Farm store hours are posted and updated on website. They currently sell at Staunton Farmers Market and have an upcoming guest spot at the Charlottesville market, hoping to make a more regular presence there. Arbor-Vale offers pick up in Dover. Dairy goat herdshares available. They offer raw milk from a herd of Alpine and Saanen goats. For an additional charge they can turn your raw goat milk into kefir, chevre, feta, camembert, brie, and/or gouda. More items may be available upon request. Additional locations may be available. The Krugers have a raw milk herdshare program. They offer delivery to nine milk drop locations in the greater Sacramento area. They are the caretakers of Jersey cows and Alpine goats. The animals are mainly grassfed, pastured on five acres with a supplement of alfalfa, oat hay and kelp, and the animals receive a small portion of non-GMO grain at milking. A dairy laboratory is used to test their milk monthly to insure the highest safety standards for their herdshare owners and families. Farm tours are encouraged. The Jersey, Ayrshire, and Holstein cows and the goats graze pasture, get coastal and alfalfa hay, and are supplemented with antibiotic-free, steroid-free grain. Non-GMO grain is used when available, with considerations to organic best practices. No hormones, antibiotics, or steroids are used. Products available daily include: raw cow milk, raw goat milk, cream, goat/cow kefir, farm-raised eggs, kombucha, a variety of artisan cheeses, grassfed beef and goat, naturally-raised chicken, plain cow yogurt, drinkable cow and goat yogurt, raw honey produced at the farm, natural unsalted butter, and seasonal products.
