When not on pasture, the cows are fed Certified Organic grass hay and haylage the farm produces, along with orchard grass/alfalfa hay from a formerly Certified Organic producer (no longer maintains certification due to cost/benefit). The cows are fed Certified Organic no-soy/no-corn grain (Big Sky Organic) at milking time. The main ingredients of the grain are peas, lentils, wheat, and barley.
