Farm raises Jersey/Guernsey, Holstein, Brown Swiss cross milk cows; Nubian, Alpine cross milk goats; Yorkshire cross pigs; and free-range chicken (eggs available too). All grain used is non-GMO. They free-feed sea kelp and have it included with their feed mixture; no synthetic mineral or vitamins are added. Cowshares, goatshares, and meats for sale at the farm or drop off. Farm store hours are 10 am - 6 pm (no Sunday sales), or by appointment. They also offer classes in backyard beekeeping and goat/cow milk soap making. Tours are available and they encourage visits by school classes. The farm also raises Certified Naturally Grown (naturallygrown.org) heirloom vegetables and this year will be growing fresh vegetables year around. This private group of individuals and families get fresh foods directly from small farmers within 100 miles of Chicago. You must become a member to participate. All animals are raised outdoors on pasture. Everything is raised organically or biodynamically. The source farms and artisan food makers have been providing food privately for more than 12 years. Careful attention sustains this cooperative. They look for people who want access to nutrient-dense specialty foods like fresh raw yogurt, kefir, butter, ice cream, traditional sourdough bread, fermented drinks and krauts, and hand-made bone broth. Bindi Farms is a small family farm located in the Santa Ynez wine country. They are a vegetarian farm and use animal welfare-centered farming practices such as milk sharing with the goat kids and calves. For herdshare members they offer raw goat's milk from their standard and mini Nubian goats, Belfair and Jersey cows, as well as a rotating selection of raw cultured yogurt, kefir, buttermilk, and cheeses. The farm also sells rainbow chicken eggs from heritage breeds, pastured duck eggs, miniature Southdown Babydoll sheep, Kune Kune pigs, apples, and exotic poultry and waterfowl. In 2022 they will also be offering on site private farm events with their friendly animals for birthday parties, special events, and educational workshops.

Herdshares are available for this herd of heritage breed British Guernsey goats. $10 buy-in per share, $2-4 jar deposit per share, and $16-18/month per share boarding fee (price subject to change year by year depending on feed costs). One share = approximately 1 quart of milk per week (can vary depending on time of year but is often slightly more). Goats are fed organic (or GMO-free if organic is unavailable) grain/alfalfa mix on the milking stand, free range grazing and mixed grass/legume hay. They are not Certified Organic but strive to maintain as natural and chemical free herd as is possible.
