A2/A2 Certified Jersey Milk with cream on top.
They feed organic dairy pellets, organic tree forage from their property, alfalfa plus some local oat hay (usually raised by El Cap FFA students). Their micro-farm follows biodynamic permaculture principles.
They machine milk as that's a nearly closed system and sanitize their milk machine after every milking. Milk is bottled in glass 1/2 gallon jars, plunged in an ice bath in a dedicated milk fridge. They calf-share until weaning the calf at six months.
Their cow eats fresh fruit as part of her milking treat each day depending upon what is in season (pomegranates, tangelos, oranges, pineapple guavas, mulberries, pumpkins) for micro-nutrients.
Centrally located on Mt. Helix near La Mesa in San Diego County.

Farmer's statement: "We are offering herd shares, and you’re invited to be part of our farm family! At First Light Farms, our beloved cows, Hazel, Suki, Maple, Roma, and Jill are producing rich, creamy unpasteurized raw milk, and you can enjoy it by becoming a shareholder in our cow herdshare program. Our cows are grassfed, happy, and in excellent health, cared for daily with love and attention on our 5-acres of pasture. We are also raising the next generation of milk makers, Clover and Honeycrisp, who keeps their momma's company. We're also milking year-round!
"We take safety very seriously. All milking is done using sanitized equipment in a clean environment to ensure your milk is of the highest quality and free from harmful bacteria. We also regularly submit milk samples to ensure there is no harmful bacteria, and that our nutritional levels are exceptional. You will not find healthier and more natural milk!
"When you join the herd share, you’re not buying milk, you’re becoming a co-owner of the cow and entitled to her fresh, raw milk.

100 percent grassfed, A2/A2 raw Guernsey cow milk for sale by the half gallon.
Farmer statement: "Fledgling Farmstead is the former home of Mountain Home Farm, a single-source micro-dairy specializing in high-quality, grass-fed butter. Since transitioning our dairy, we have continued to keep a family milk cow and we are excited to offer raw milk to our community again as of January 2025!
We feed high quality hay and some pelleted alfalfa when our cow comes in for milking. During the growing season, we rotationally graze our pastures. We milk with a belly-milker system, meaning that the milk is covered during milking and it does not go through a vacuum line system. We follow all Vermont standards for Tier 1 raw milk sales. We invite your questions about our process!
We are currently milking only one cow so milk supplies are limited to subscription sales and pick-ups by appointment only. For more information or to sign up for a regular pick-up, email fledglingfarmstead@gmail.com or call (802) 685-3181."

Fresh raw goat milk and small batch goat milk yogurt for pet consumption.
Farmer statement:
"Our goats are milked daily so our milk is always fresh. Our pampered goats have ample lovely pastures to live and graze on at our small farm in Tiger, GA. They are loved and doted on, so we have very fat and happy girls. Milk is usually available from Feb. to Nov. as our girls are seasonal breeders and require time off while they are growing their babies. I also at times carry frozen goat’s milk for during off season. Milk pick up is by appointment only."
