This 72-acre family farm is on the Nehalem River just outside of Vernonia. They produce raw Jersey milk, produce, fruit, eggs, and pastured meat.
They use no synthetic fertilizers. Instead compost, manure, organic amendments, and wood chips form the building blocks of their soil. They do not use any organic or inorganic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides on their vegetables. Nothing gets sprayed except organic foliar fertilizers like fish hydrolyze and kelp products.
They source their feed locally in Western Oregon. Their pigs and chickens eat only non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free local grains that are free of glyphosate. Their dairy cows are grass fed on pasture year round in a rotational grazing system. They receive a small amount of non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free grain during milking plus essential minerals and kelp. Strict cleanliness standards are kept. Closed loop milking machine manufactured in Oregon by Simple Pulse. Milk is quick chilled and stored in a dedicated fridge.
