Family owned and operated ranch with a small herd of Saanen, Nubian and Alpine dairy goats. They offer a goatshare program making it possible for people to obtain raw milk from their own animals. They started this venture as a way to provide raw goat milk for their grandchild at her doctor's recommendation. They quickly realized the health benefits of raw goat milk and decided to invest more of themselves and their ranch into the dairy goat business. Farmer's statement: "Why Join Our Farm Family? Mi.roots is a small, pasture-based farm in central Michigan. We farm slow and work hard to bring the best nutrient-dense produce and meat to our tables. Direct from our farm to you. We are a small family business, and our livelihood depends on our farm family's happiness. We understand how busy life can be and how hard it is to eat locally. We've been there, we've struggled to make the transformation to eat better. We are compassionate about our animals and crops and care for them so we can care for you."

Small family farm milking 35 primarily Jersey cows, with herd leases available. They are grass-based, with their cows on pasture from spring until late fall. They are not USDA Certified Organic but use organic farming practices. They machine milk into a closed system. Milk is immediately strained, chilled, and stored in a closed bulk tank. Scheduled farm visits are welcomed. They also offer raw milk cheese (aged 60 days) and Greek yogurt made from their milk. Also available at the farm or on deliveries are pastured chicken and duck eggs, pastured no-nitrate pork, pastured beef, pastured chicken, raw unfiltered honey, local maple syrup, and as-close-to-local extra virgin olive oil as you can get in Michigan. Everything produced or sold on their farm is pastured, hormone-free, steroid-free, antibiotic-free, and GMO-free. They deliver weekly to five locations throughout Kalamazoo, Portage, and Paw Paw. Farm pick-up is also available. Contact Tyler and Nadine Stutzman for more info.
