Farmer statement: "Fledgling Farmstead is the former home of Mountain Home Farm, a single-source micro-dairy specializing in high-quality, grass-fed butter. Since transitioning our dairy, we have continued to keep a family milk cow and we are excited to offer raw milk to our community again as of January 2025!
We feed high quality hay and some pelleted alfalfa when our cow comes in for milking. During the growing season, we rotationally graze our pastures. We milk with a belly-milker system, meaning that the milk is covered during milking and it does not go through a vacuum line system. We follow all Vermont standards for Tier 1 raw milk sales. We invite your questions about our process!

This is not an organic certified dairy but they feed a diet that includes organic second cut hay, organic garlic stalks and organic garlic cloves. They ferment raw goats milk to create a kefir that is sold as a pet supplement called Farm Dog Formula. This farm does not sell raw milk for human consumption. The nutrients from the goats are used to grow NOFA-certified hay, straw and organic garlic that is sold online and locally.
