Currently milking Jerseys and Guernseys that have been tested for A2/A2 protein. The cows are fed free choice pasture and hay for forage and a premix pellet for grain. Milk is $5/gallon in a container provided by the customer, $6/gallon in a container provided by the farm. At times, butter and cheeses are available (examples: gouda, colby, and cheese curds). The barn is Grade A quality/capable when inspections are enacted. Rigorous commercial cleanliness quality standards are followed with cow health and milk quality a priority. Any medications used are absolutely necessary for the life of the cow and milk is antibiotic tested before it goes back on sale to the consumer. Farm pick-up is generally around 4:30 pm unless other arrangements are made. Regularly scheduled pick-ups are appreciated. The cows are tame and visitors are welcome. Text is appreciated before the call to make sure voice chat is possible. Calls are OK, and will be answered on availability. Facebook: hammertimehollow. HammerTime Hollow is a small family run farm in Town n Country raising dairy cattle and New Zealand rabbits for show and consumption. Just 10 minutes from Tampa airport. Milk and other dairy products come from predominantly registered Jersey cows. Cows are fed a dairy ration (grain) twice a day, perennial peanut hay, and have free access to Tifton hay and eight acres of pasture and wetlands. Due to the cattle also being 4-H projects and thus traveling at times, they are vet checked twice a year and given annual vaccinations. Products include fluid milk in quarts, half gallons and gallons, cream, butter, farmhouse cheese, whey, and buttermilk. Products other than fluid milk are available on a limited basis. $10/gallon, $6/half gallon, and $4/quart. Milk can also be put into glass jars upon request for a small initial deposit. Products sold include real milk ($4 half gallon plus $2 jar deposit), yogurt, cottage cheese, soft cheeses, ice cream, and other farm raised foods like duck eggs, chicken eggs, berries and some veggies. Directions: Look for the two cows, Millie and Mary, in the field across from the post office. The Matinicus farmers market is Wednesdays from 11 am to 1 pm during July and August, and all products on hand are also available at the house, next to the cow's pasture. Herd is registered mini-Nubian goats. Small dairy licensed with the state of Idaho (permit #RGM079). They offer raw unpasteurized milk (whole or skim), kefir, chevre, mozzarella, ricotta. The herd is tested yearly by a veterinarian for TB and brucellosis. They have regular state milk tests. The herd has certified hay and some grain at milking.
